Power Points & Outlets
New power points from $149 installed, USB and USB-C outlets, weatherproof outdoor points, and honest fixes for the sockets that died years ago.

A home never has enough plugs where you need them
Every NZ home has one: the multiboard daisy-chain behind the TV, the extension cord across the garage, the kitchen bench with two outlets and eleven appliances.
Overloaded boards and trailing leads aren't just untidy - they're a genuine fire and trip risk. The fix is cheap, quick and permanent.

What we do
Doubles cost barely more than singles - we default to doubles, because nobody has ever wished for fewer sockets.
New power points
From $149 per point installed on an accessible wall near existing wiring; long runs or concrete walls quoted upfront.
USB & USB-C outlets
Charge phones and tablets without the plug-brick clutter; brilliant for kitchens, bedsides and home offices.
Outdoor & garage power
Weatherproof (IP-rated) outdoor points for tools, EV trickle charging, spas, water features and the BBQ area; proper RCD-protected circuits for garages and sleepouts.
Dedicated appliance circuits
Ovens, induction cooktops, heat pumps, spas and EV chargers all need their own properly rated circuit, not a share of the toaster's. (Big new loads can also mean a switchboard check - we assess it as part of the quote, free.)
Repairs & replacements
Dead sockets, cracked or scorched faceplates, loose points that spark when you unplug. Scorch marks and warmth at an outlet are a call-today item, not a someday one.
Relocations
Moving points for renovations, wall-mounted TVs (hidden cabling - no dangling cords), and kitchen rearrangements.
FAQs
How much does it cost to install a power point in NZ?
Typically $150-$350 per point depending on wall type and distance from existing wiring - ours start at $149 for straightforward positions, fixed-quoted before we start. Booking several at once brings the per-point price down since the call-out is shared.
Can a power point be added to any wall?
Almost any - the variables are cable routing (roof space, subfloor or wall cavity) and wall construction. Concrete and brick take longer; we'll tell you the price implication upfront.
Why did my power point stop working?
Commonly a tripped RCD or breaker, a failed socket mechanism, or a loose connection upstream. If resetting the board doesn't fix it, don't keep resetting - that's fault-finding territory, and repeated tripping means the circuit is protecting you from something.
Are old power points dangerous?
Aging sockets with worn contacts run hot and grip plugs poorly - a fire risk hiding in plain sight, and often a sign the wiring behind them deserves a look in older homes.
Do I get certification?
Yes - new points and circuit work are prescribed electrical work, and you'll receive the required Certificate of Compliance/Electrical Safety Certificate.
Stop living around your sockets
Book a morning, list every point you've wished for, and we'll do the lot in one visit - that's the cheapest way to buy them.
