For homeowners: a plan built around your life
Before a single cable runs, we walk the plans with you room by room: where the bed actually goes (so the switches are reachable from it), where the TV mounts, which benches get appliance banks, lighting layers and dimming per room, outdoor power and lighting, and the quiet essentials - data points, hot water, heat pump provisioning, interconnected smoke alarms to the current code.
Future-proofing is the cheapest it will ever be while the walls are open: EV charger circuit (or at least the cable path), solar-and-battery-ready switchboard, extra capacity for the garage workshop, conduit runs you'll thank yourself for in 2031. We'll suggest it; you choose.
Renovating rather than building? Kitchens and bathrooms are electrical projects wearing tile: dedicated appliance circuits, compliant zones around water, extraction, lighting that flatters - and, in older homes, the moment to deal with aging wiring and the switchboard while access is free. FAQs
When should the electrician get involved in a new build?
At plan stage - before consent if possible. Circuit design, switchboard sizing and smoke alarm layout are cheaper on paper than on site, and the current code (interconnected alarms in all bedrooms, living areas, hallways and each level) is easiest met when it's designed in.
What does the electrical work on a new build cost?
Commonly somewhere between 3–6% of build cost depending on size and specification - a figure that moves mainly with lighting design, automation and future-proofing choices. We quote line-by-line from your plans so you can tune it.
Can you match the build programme?
That's the job: prewire slotted before close-in, fit-off after paint, and honest lead times so we're never your critical path.
Do renovations need consent for electrical work?
The electrical work itself needs certification rather than consent, but renovations that are consented trigger current-code requirements - notably interconnected smoke alarms. We make sure your project passes first time.
Can you do the heat pump and ventilation as well?
Yes - heat pumps, ducted systems and ventilation are our other trade: one contractor, one coordination point, one power plan that accounts for everything.
