LED downlights
Supplied and installed from $89 per point for standard replacements (new-wiring positions quoted upfront). We fit quality, insulation-rated (IC-F) fittings that can be safely covered by ceiling insulation — a critical detail in NZ ceilings. Dimmable and colour-temperature-selectable options standard.
Halogen-to-LED conversions
Old 50W halogens run hot, chew power and cook their transformers. A whole-house conversion typically pays for itself in power savings within a couple of years — and your ceiling stops doubling as a toaster.
Feature & interior lighting
Pendants, wall lights, LED strip for kitchens and alcoves, mirror and vanity lighting, and dimming/smart control (app or voice) where it earns its place.
Outdoor & security lighting
Sensor floods, path and deck lighting, soffit downlights and garden features - all properly rated for NZ weather and wired to code. No plug-pack specials draped through the hedge.

Lighting design, not just holes in the ceiling
The difference between “we put in downlights” and “the room feels amazing” is layout. A grid of lights ignores how the room is used; a plan works from tasks and mood: brighter over benches and reading spots, softer zones for evenings, dimmers where the room does double duty, warm colour temperature (2700–3000K) for living spaces and cooler for task areas.
We sketch the layout with you before a single hole saw comes out - and in older homes we check what's above the ceiling first, because joists, wires and insulation don't care about your symmetry.

How much does LED downlight installation cost in NZ?
From $89 per point for straightforward replacements including the fitting; new-position installs cost more due to wiring. We fix-quote after a quick look at your ceiling access.
How many downlights does a room need?
As a rule of thumb, one quality LED per 1.5-2m² for even general lighting, adjusted for ceiling height, wall colour and how the room is used - a plan beats a formula.
Are LED downlights safe under ceiling insulation?
Only IC-rated fittings are designed for insulation contact. It's the spec we fit as standard — and the one to check on any quote that seems suspiciously cheap.
Can you dim LEDs?
Yes, with LED-compatible dimmers matched to the fittings - mismatched dimmers cause the flicker people blame on the lights.
Do you take away the old fittings?
Yes - old fittings, transformers and packaging all leave with us, and the ceiling holes from larger old fittings are managed with converter plates where possible.
